Food Chain!

Rocky shore food chain

In the Rocky Shore the base of the food chain is the sun.  Plankton and algae then get their energy from the sun by photosynthisis.  Filterfeeders eat decomposed plants and animals.  Plankton and algae are then eaten by herbivores, which are eaten by carnivors.  As you can see, the carnivors are at the top of the food chain.  Larger carnivors then eat these smaller carnivors.
